hello,

can anybody tell me the difference in numbers, profile of the different OEM cams year 2003-2004 and 2005??
I know that 2004 cam has about 266 degrees.

greetings Madero

Lineaweaver's Gallery shows the 2003 08 cam against the older 53 & 55 cams.

The 05 cam has a large inlet duration with a reduced exhaust duration to maintain torque a low/mid range.

Becareful using the shorter duration 53/55 cams in the newer (2003 onwards) higher compression engines. I think this can cause problems.

Also I think that the newer cams 2003-2005 only work well in the higher compression engines (over 12:1).

thank you LIoyd for sharing the information.

Just a few minutes ago I have installed the X2 cam in my mild tuned husaberg 650 2004.
I test it for a short distance on the road, this evening or tomorow i will put my bike on my bench.
I have the impression but this is 100 procent my idea that the engine revs more aggressive.

More info will follow.
The bench will give the verdict.

If they are people who has info about the cams i stayed interesting.

I have such information on an archived CD. When I have a moment to catch my breath I will see about retrieving it for you.

Thanks Dale,for sharing.

I will give you also some detail info from the tests with the x2 cam tomorrow.

I am working this morning on the bike, but wants first some advice from Dale L regarding the Air-Fuel set up.

Report will follow.

greetings madero

have some difficulties to find proper jetting, has no pops at all,but some other issues hopefully with some patience it will come in a good state of tune.

Hi Mathieu,
As per our Email correspondence Stop! attempting to "performance" tune via a Lambda sensor. With a long duration camshaft free inlet charge finds it's way into the exhaust during overlap. Such tricks the Lambda sensor into thinking the mixture is "Lean". (A Lambda Sensor only recognizes O2 which is a very large portion of an unburned inlet charge).

Do Not! base your tuning on plug color.

Quite simply tune for optimum "Dynamic" performance and then choose a spark plug (heat range, tip design, etc.) which will remain happy in the combustion chamber.

The OEM metering rod profiles are far too lean forcing one to use a fat main jet. Such throws the entire fuel curve out of whack.

Regarding accelerator pump deactivation and low speed carburetor circuit
tuning please read this entire thread:

Hope this helps.
If it does not perhaps a "Jet Kit" is in order.

Kind regards,
Dale
