Hello,

I am a new member of your group! Up to now I have no Husaberg but a couple of other dirtbikes.

That's why I would like to ask you a question about this:

frontendsc9.jpg

Are the frontend parts of this bike ( fork, headlamp plastic ) parts of a 1989...1991 Husaberg or maybe a Husqvarna 510??

Here are 3 pictures of my project, one of a 1990 Husaberg FE501, one of the Maico 350 in 1991 and one of the same bikes remainings today:

I would appreciate any information!

Regards from germany

Uli

hi! the whole front - head lamp, fender, forks and wheel - seem to be out of an 1989-91 mc 501
also the swingarm looks the same! is this your project or did i miss understood?

regards

Yes Paul,

it's my project. Thanks for your answer!

It was found on a scrapyard in bavaria near the former Maico factory. Obviously someone had tried to "kill" the prototype with the anglegrinder, maybe the former owner of Maico after his bancruptcy?? The old man who found it took only the few less destroyed parts with him as to be seen the right picture. :(

The man told me that the demolished wheels of the bike had extremely lightweigt (he said magnesium) spokes and rims. I have only got the hubs. I heard that Husaberg had very special "Nordisk" rims? Could that match??

Did the Husabergs always have *********** forks?
Are the fender and lamp mask specific Husaberg parts? Are they still available?

Regards Uli

Hi Uli,

At the moment i am restoring a FE 501 1990 and as i looked under the lower triplecamps there is a KTM mark inbedded!!!
The Rims Are Nordisk indeed and they are the same as are on Husqvarna.

Love your rare maico,blaue mauritius!!!

gruss Rens
