Did I buy a '92 FC600 or FE600 ?
Can you tell from the photos?
I've been told that it appears to be an FE, although the title/vin says FC

How can I tell if the 6spd is a wide ratio or close ratio?

Thanks

Wow...very nice. I am gonna go out on a limb and say FE. I would think an FC would have a 4 speed box.

I'm not sure when the change took place, however, if your bike has two air filters, it's an FE. If it only has one under the seat then it's an FC.

Also, if that is the original plastic, the it's definitely an FE, but that was easy to change.

Go the husaberg.se web site and down load the manual for that year bike and see what the difference is between the wide, and narrow gear box is.

well i'd like to say we;come to UHE to you russkat but you seem to be in a rush and forgot your manners. we're obviously only a brain dump and a bunch of phuqwits for you to suck info.

of course i'll trust that you just forgot to say hello and "is tea ready". manners cost nothing.

correct me but surely the sidestand wasn't on the FC? if the lug on the frame looks original then its an Fe. if it looks welded on later then its an FC?

either way IDGaF.

Russkat - Have you downloaded free copies of the '89-'96 parts and owner's manuals from http://www.husaberg.com/Downloads.33.0.html ? They should list enough differences for you to tell, particularly the parts manual..

I'd suggest looking at the wiring. If the wiring looks like it is original then it must be an FE. The FC had stuff-all electrical system. If it has been added later, chances are it has been made up and is not an original loom.

Also, add a bit of info about your location etc in your profile. Post back with a bit of history about the bike or how you ended up with it. It looks in very good order.

You got a burr under your tail Taff? No-one here is forced to GaF, but it doesn't encourage anyone if we outright say we dont. Don't be too rough on a UHE virgin!

Dale,

My FE350 only has one air filter.

Russ, I think it might say it on the headstock near the vin, or in the VIN. I recall mine being there. Look behind the headlamp for numbers punched in the frame. BTW, it's a beuty, you will really enjoy this bike!!!

The side stand looks to be fitted after the fact. I think the bike is an FC. My '96 FC has a 6 speed gear box as well, and has two air filters too. What a fantastic looking bike! You're a lucky guy.

Yea...It's just too much bike for me.
Way too much power.

Open to trades for something slower, maybe an older trials bike (80's to early 90's) that I can have a custom seat made for.
The alphanumeric "FC600" is within the VIN...
