DEP S7 silencer.

Ended up winning the silencer below off of ebay for less than half price after i put in a low bid. It was very much one of those bids that i didn't worry about loosing.

its for a >07 ktm. (the one pictured isnt the exact one but gives you the general idea)

The silencer slips on perfectly. The carbon brackets just need the corners taken off the top to fit into the recessed mounting points of the husaberg subframe, though i might just seen how much the stainless mounting brackets are as they look like they will bolt straight on.

haven't ridden it yet but figures wise the stock silencer weighed in at 5.72 lbs and this is weighing in at 4.20lbs inclusive of mounting brackets. A saving of 1.52lb

The silencer is a mx silencer though so it is expected to be lighter than the bergs enduro item. There is an insert avalibe that quietens it down but prior to getting that i'm going to see how it performs and get it noise tested.

well i couldnt wait so ive fitted it.

In the photo below you can see that i've had to space it out 30mm at the rear to avoid tyre rub.
Guess that's why the standard silencer is that almost triangular shape.

The front was spaced 10 or 15 mm and the spacers were made up from an old handgurad fitting kit i had lying around. I never throw anything out if i think it's still usable in some shape or form.

At FR3 i noted that one of the LeoVince exhausts that had carbon brackets had suffered tyre rub and rubbed all the way through the bracket so even a system 3 times the price hasn't got it exactly right.

My main worry over spacing it out so far is whether its going to put strain on the subframe. Lets cross fingers it doesn't.

I have started it up, though not ridden it yet, and it does sound a bit fruity so i'm going to let it do the 15 min burn in tomorrow then get it sound tested some time this week.

hopefully the next report will be a ride report and sound test results.

forgot to mention this but is it just me or does anyone else cringe when they're screwing the bolts directly into the plastic?

think its just i'm fearful of screwing up the thread.

I was looking at this on racespec is it holding up well with the brackets? I am looking for a slipon for my Fx450 but don't really wanna spend a whole lot on a slipon and this is looking good. Any gains? worth buying?
