Narrowed it down to a weekend in July. Need to pick a weekend (3 days) and also need to find out how many is coming. The more the merrier. Would also make it less expensive for all who shows up. For more information about Hatfield McCoy trail system visit: www.trailsheaven.com Check the last post "ride in the east" will give you a idea of what we might do.

I'd say 16th or 23rd. I'm leaning towards the 23rd...

My 1 cents worth.

It would be better for me to go on the weekend of the 23rd. Witch day would you plan for the first day of ridding? The 22nd or the 23rd. Planning on 2 days ridding or 3 ? Those closer could proably ride some the same day they arrive, others may want to settle in first. Myself I`am looking at about a 5hr. drive. Who is going to make arrangments for everybody to stay at? Camping is fine with me if everybody wants to do so. I`m thinking on the lines of a shoestring budget, but if we all pitch in then the cost won`t be so bad.

Sorry I have a family function that I must attend on July 23rd, so I can't make that date. I can go July 16th or July 30th, will either of those weekends work ?

Brian

I might have a family function the 3rd week of July, but I might be able to be free the weeknd of the 23rd, I'll confirm right away and let you know .
3 days would be great for the ride ! A must do are Dingess Rum Trails (by Logan,WV) and Browning Fork Trails (between Gilbert & Man,WV).
The third best in my opinion is Buffalo Mountain Trails (between Williamson & Matewan,WV).
We usually meet the night before and stay at the Super 8 ( or Best Western) in Logan and ride Dingess Rum. It doesn't matter to me if we stay the night before and get up and ride, or meet that morning and ride.
We usually stay at Browning Fork Trailhouse (browningforktrailhouse.com) and ride Browning Fork Trails right from our cabin. Get up the next morning and drive to Buffalo Mountain and ride there and go home.
For a budget, we meet Friday morn, ride Dingess, drive to Gilbert/Browning Fork and sleep. Ride Browning Fork Saturday sleep that night there. Get up early Sunday drive about 30- 45 minutes to Buffalo Mountain ride half a day and home.
Two nights for a cabin/trailhouse @ Browning Fork; $125 a night for a trailhouse or $60 a night for a cabin, divided by however many in our group( see www.browningforktrailhouse.com).
What do you guys think ?

How hot does it get down yonder this time of year??

The dates for me are open. Lets see what we can come up with. How about either the 16th or the 30th. I could proably pull it off on most any weekend in July or later. Like to give people a chance to see what they can come up with. We have time.

Let's go for the weekend of July 15/16/17/18 ? Any of those 2-3 days ?

As far as the weather in souther WV, it can be pretty hot and muggy on average, but then again you can get a cool spell. Most of the time you're uner the trees though.

There's been no activity on this thread for 10 days now, so I take it that those who are interested have already responded. So July 16th then ?
There will be 3 of us at least from Ohio, maybe a couple more. Let's get this thing booked !

Lettuce Ride !!!

August 5 / 6 / 7 2005 !?

The last posts concerning these two threads stated August 5,6,7, 2005.
Is this confirmed ? As I stated in the other thread, I'm a police officer, and we bid for shift, vacation, time-off, etc. every four months.
Our bid is up and I have to put in for time off now and we have to make reservations for motels/camping/etc. as they book up fast !!!
