A comment made by one of the fellows at the campfire last evening.Truly it was a great weekend at the BMG wilderness resort in Northern New Brunswick,Canada. We got to ride the new 06 husabergs on a groomed grassed hillside and later in the day tested the bikes on a trail ride.I think everyone will like the new look of the 06 models!
The spectacular show of the northern lights and the shrieks from the packs of coyotes nearby really set a unique atmosphere at the campfire. The lad was correct "coyotes, the northern lights, new husabergs and beer ,it does not get any better than this".
A special thanks to Jedi and the BMG team....nsman
Oh yea..don't ever lend Coffin a bike :D

also, don't ever slather your body in crisco and dance naked in his hotel room while playing "Mandy" by Barry Manilow on a kazoo. It makes him randy. :ky:

Or so I've heard....

Hey now....I can attest to having no problems in either of those two situation's :yikes:

Black & Blue

Berger.....the only reason you were safe in West Virgina was because you were so good to me that I didn't have the heart to inflict the trauma on you that Schwing...I mean Schwim begged for :D

In terms of the new bikes, I spent the most time on the 2006 FE 550 this weekend. As expected, it absolutely hauls butt!!! It is not for the faint of heart. There is just something about holding that big monster wide open on that grass track that makes me giggle like the evil twist junkie that I am.

Everyone raved about the 06 FE450. It definitely rips and it produced mile wide grins on all who rode it.

I agree with nsman that the black frame and new plastic & gas tank look pretty cool. To pay tribute to the new colors, our friend "Sasquatch" made sure my arms were covered in black and blue bruises from the rocks that he fired like missles at me as I chased him through the woods!!

I'm not sure if FryGuy is checking in while he is at the ISDE in Slovakia but if you are out there Fry....you will be happy to know that I didn't do too much damage to Jedhi's truck this time but I did inflict a "small" amount of pain on your 2005 FE550 ISDE bike that you used in Poland. :(

We will try to get some pics from the event posted as soon as possible.

Cheers

You know, I read the subject line, and I thought this nsman heard about my weekend....Really weird....

I had about the same kinda weekend. I did some adjusting on my bike, drank more than enuff beer, watched the northern lights (doesnt get much better this far up north) and had a run in with a coyote...

My 02 FE501e had been giving me some grief starting, so I adjusted the vales, and cleaned up the carb. Rode for a few hours, enuff to get some good rips in, and was happy!!!

Drank loads of beer (after the riding).... Sat by our fire pit saturday night, and watched the sky dance. It was very clear out saturday night, even got below 0, so I drank more beer and hugged the fire....

At 4:30am, my wife screamed and my dogs cried even louder, as a coyote on hot on the tail of our new pup ( Shitz-hu, real mans dog). So I bounce outta bed like super man and I'm off after this varmit in my gonch, -4 outside and slippery grass.... The varmit didnt get ahold of the pup, but sure scared the stuffing right outta the lil bugger..... So after everyone settled down I sat and watched the front yard....The coyote had the balls to come back..... I yelled and he ran away again....

Next time Ill drink less beer, and be sitting there with my "little friend", and eat coyote for breakfast....

Good story nsman....

Coffin,
Are you sure at least one of those bruises did not come from smacking into deck furniture as you did hot laps around the wraparound verandah of the lodge on the mini bike,or possibly when you did that high speed headstand on the trail ride ?........nsman

Hey Dirty,
Sounds like you got a little more involved with the coyotes than we did.....great country eh:

NSMan

The ones on my arms are definitely from rocks chucked from the back of "Squatch's" ride.

The big black one on my leg and the constant ringing in my ears are definitely from smacking myself into the ground at a high rate of speed during the "incident" you are talking about.

The only bruises that resulted from riding the pit bike on the deck of the lodge were to my ego after Todd scolded me like a little kid and instructed me to get my butt off that bike before I crashed and he had to pick pebbles from my face. Not wise to argue with a 6'4" Canuck when you have had a couple pops  Besides, that little bike was wicked fast and scared me more than any bike I think I have ever thrown a leg over  The only saving grace was that it was Todd himself who ended up tossing that little bike on the grass track and ripping off the front fender

Jedhi accused me of being a pathetic whiner for pointing out my bruises. For the record...I consider them Husa Trophies :D

Yeah..Yeah...just when I was starting to respect your ability to actually ride a Berg like you stole it....

It's true folks....Jedhi can actually ride like a demon  Honestly...I was pleasantly shocked. Last weekend was the first time we actually rode together

Atleast when I crash I don't look like a figure skater doing some kind of fancy triple toe spin manouever!!! Do you really want the UHE to know about the antics of the infamous Jedhi in the exact same spot 24 hours prior to my faceplant?

By the way...did you find my prescription sunglasses yet?

nope, no glasses, i'll check up there

my riding and fitness have room for improvement to say the least. However, i am perfecting my crashes.

cheers

Should I bring my Husaberg? I have been sharing it around with the fellas and it is well liked(reports say awesome). Can I bring the rest of the guys from central Colchester(Truro) we are loaded with KDX's and Glennie has a KTM. We have our annual trip over to Pictou County to fit in as well , I am trying to get a truckload to the Valley ride(Diabetes Foundation fundraiser) on Thanksgiving weekend. Will Coffin be there? It seems he will be quite entertaining......and we will have to drive.... I mean drink hard to show him up.

Hey nsman, I was wondering if the production models ended up looking like the pictures that we have been seeing on this site or if changes were made? By the way I cannot wait to ride my new FE-650 when it arrives in October.

Wooleyberger,
The bikes are indeed the same as the pictures. The o6 changes are black frame(looks good) and darker blue plastic and black seat cover. The rad shrouds have a round access hole on each side possibly to ease installation of a fan and/or quick change of the spark plug. The front fender support is also black. The taillight assy will be of the smaller KTM style and the fuel taps are now of the screw type as opposed to the lever.
I rode the 06 fe450 most of the day on both the grass sections and on the trail ride and was really impressed with the clutch and transmission ,never missed a shift all day and shifted with as much effort and just as fast as it takes to blink. The short stroke 450 engine is very well suited to eastern woods riding, power impulses are close together and very smooth which makes trail riding a joy,but when you open it up it accelerates hard enough to make your vision go blurry.
As usual Husabergs make a novice rider good,a good rider better and for a great rider they are magic.I am sure you will love your fe650 and it will be worth the wait....you might want to get your pilots license first :D

Every time I miss a weekend at the chateau du Barrett, Coffin puts on a show that I wish that I hadn't missed, but then after seeing your pics, coffin, maybe SLovakia was less painfull.

Cheers

fry

Not to worry Fry. I am confirmed to be in Reno with you next weekend and I am sure we can figure out ways to entertain you and make up for anything that you missed

I have a feeling that the ISDE was a wee bit tougher than me eating some HusaRoost

If my memory serves me right....the last time I ate serious roost prior to this event was from YOU on the grass track a couple of years ago when we battled on the 04 FE650s.

Glad you made it home safe Fry.
