We've had 2 more weekends of racing, where the big Husaberg has been the talk of the town. While we've had some bad luck, results have still been coming.

Shane and I are planning on riding the 570 again at the last six hr in Grande Priarie at the end of the month. We'll have a better setup for the bike, so we hope to repeat or improve upon our last effort with the bike.

ps Our fastest lap was calculated to have an average 92 km/hr average speed (with the transponder system that is used, its easily done). I found a chart that illustrates wind chill at speeds and 80 km/hr ( highest speed on the chart ) and -30C is a -69C/-75F wind chill. Keeping warm is a high priority...and it can also be hard on parts :)

That's my kinda weather !!

What an effort Lee - that's determination.

I hope nobody looses any digits from the frostbite...

Cheers

Mark

No serious frostbite with CGRT, some loss of facial skin, but only minor. One fellow from another team, rode two laps without goggles, and froze his corneas...not sure how that plays out, but not that SMRT.

The team earned an award, called the ' Innovators Award ', given to the team who faced the most adversity and strived to overcome it. THat made me prouder than the 2nd place points. I'll post pics when I can.

Mark you have to try this...its a hoot. 09 was the 20th anniversary for me at Numb Bum, my first one in 1989, on a 82 750 Seca. I've lost count, but this was about my 9th 24 hr. very cool event.

Hey Lee,
I really enjoyed the write-up in the link you provided above. You guys are animals! I can't imagine racing and trying to stay somewhat comfortable in such hideous sub freezing temps.
Sounds like you, Shane, Jay and Nick are a fantastic team that when faced with huge obstacles, use your forward thinking and prevail! Nice job on the engine swap btw.

Good luck to you and Shane at Grand Prairie and congrats on 20 years of competing in the Numb Bum!

Outstanding effort Corner Grass!

Been the the website that track looks amazing...whats the deal is it open to the public or just for the team???

hey Maddtrapper,
the track is not normally open to the public because it is on private land, but please feel welcome to join us on June 20/21 for the third installment of our annual Corner Grass Hare Scramble. The main classes will be racing on Saturday. There's a social on Sat night (live music as well). Then on Sunday the kids and ladies rip up the track. There's usually a dual sport class on Sunday too! So grab one of your 6-fittys and come on down for an awesome weekend. we will be posting more race info on the website soon.
