Going over the new 08 450 the other day & found they now make
a new radiator rod for the louvers to slide over & the shrouds bolt to.
It's made from steel & is hexed for a wrench or socket to tighten or remove!!
Not a real big deal but if your old ones had ever backed out on you when removing
tank in a hurry then? Nice to see them still improving thing's.

p.s part #800-35-036-100 9.90 ea.

Cool,

Both of my bikes have plier marks on them where I had to hold onto them, then file them back down!!

Thank heaven for little things! The hex for tightening is a very nice touch. Are they reasonably priced Rick?

I replaced my 05' plastic rods with some nice aluminum Bendberg rods.

Hey! here´s a tip. On the plastic ones you can take a screw for sheet metal (don´t know the name in English) it´s the self drilling one.
And screw it in through the louvers and the rod. On the alu ones, first drill a small hole.
It´s a quick fix for easier service.
Happy racing!

you mean a self tapping screw ... good idea sir
Just bought my 6th berg in 8 years fe550. My solution to the problem is to srew a short length of stainless steel studing with threadlock on it, this sticks out of the rubber gromet. Now put a wingnut on the studing winding it in till it slightly squashes the gromet. Never had one come off yet. Also you can get the tank off in 45 seconds without any tools!.
Regards Billberg.

BendBergs Rock. Hey Bill. His intake covers are also super cool. great when washing the bike and trucking it long distances.
