FE550 with Lineaweaver kit: 160MJ, 48PJ, FS 1.5, AJ 0.5, clip #4 (Dale's starting point)
Result: Too rich on the bottom, very soft off idle, no bogging, very fast idle when using enrichener (choke)

Change 1: FS 0.5, clip #3
Result: Marginally better idle, no bog, strong at 1/2 throttle

Change 2: 42PJ, FS 1.5, (clip still on #3)
Result: Better idle, now has lean bog, more normal idle speed when using enrichener
Increasing the FS to 2.0 had no appreciable improvement on poor performance on the snap wheelie test.

As per the document, next I will change the clip to #4 to see if it helps with the lean bog. At this point I feel I could go with a leaner pilot, but would continue to fail the snap wheelie test. This could easily be fixed by restoring the accelerator pump with a reduced squirt, but my goal is to avoid using the pump.

What carb circuit is used to bridge the lean condition on throttle snap on a non-pump setup? Currently the bike will snap wheelie fine from about 1/8 throttle, but should snap wheelie from idle.

you need to decide on the correct MJ first! this will then lead to the needle clip test.

you can get rid of the bog by going both in and out with the PS. you should be able to find somewhere that allows the bike to fly.

then you can try the needle down either half a clip or a full one and you may find the midrange brilliant and the bog worse but this is the correct order in which to tackle your problems.

as i say though, a 155MJ might bring the needle back to C4 and then the bog is gone but only if you need the smaller MJ!
