whato mellow yellow and welcome to UHE mate!

i've been there before mate, i know exactly where you are and how you feel.

i would lay plug in cap and kick over in the garage in the dark with someone looking. no spark, orange spark, blue spark, a spark now and again? etc etc - you get my drift!

next i would get a multimeter and check some readings at various points like the coil and th estator. the stator in the RH cover is the usual suspect!

next i would get a new plug or two to be sure, change to fresh fuel, get the strobe on the ignition etc etc.

next one which is very high on the list are the tappet clearances. read up on them in the doc or through using the search feature at the top of this page.

next, drop the floatbowl and pull all the jets and clean. gaurantee the choke jet is blocked making it impossible to start.

next, tip a thimble of fuel into the rubber boot after you have taken the air filter off. now try to start it.

Well good news Taffy,

and thanks for your help and time to reply.

i pulled off the case to the stator and retighted all the three bolts,
next pulled of the carb and pulled every part apart and cleaned down with carb cleaner, and airhose.

Put it all back together and guess what it now runs and quite nice, after the first 15 or so kick to get the fuel in the lines, now it's one or two kicks......
as for e-start i think the battery is half dead i'm going to get a new one.

Thanks again for your time and help

Welcome to the world of the husy and the UHE mellowyellow.
You've taken the right first step and found this site.
Even though you've got it goin OK still do some searching because believe me this isn't a new problem and there are heaps of posts on this site.
Read thru the "Owners Doc". There is a wealth of info in there.
Take the time to check your stator with a multimeter - especially if it's an original SEM. It's an original if it's a blackish coloured resin.
Don't want to scare you off too much but the SEM stator is the single biggest POS on this planet and it's not a matter of if but when it will fail.
Being a 2nd hander you might be lucky and already have a rewind in there - these are the way to go.
As Taffy says, check your valve clearances.
Also make sure the auto decomp is working and doesn't have too much wear (not enough lift).
