Hi,

I gladly own two Husaberg: 2010 FX450 + 2011 FE570S.

When cold, my FX450 starts in about 2 seconds.
When cold, my FE570S takes forever to start. It can take up to 1 minute of crancking but I always get it to start.

I've read about the camshaft autodecompression issues.

My question: Can I switch my FX450 camshast into my FE570S engine ? The parts number are not the same, but I believe it must be the cam profile or something like that.

I'm going on a 14 days trip to Basja, mexico this fall on my FE570S and I don't want to stress about starting my bike every morning...

You need a better starting procedure.

I crank it for 3-4 seconds, then wait 5. Then crank again for 3-4 seconds, until it 'chuffs' or backfires once. Wait another 5 seconds. Then crank again. It starts on the third crank every time. For me anyway!

The camshaft would not be close to the same I wouldn't think.

I dont know if the fx cam differs from the fe450, but if not the only difference is a bit shorter and lower lift at the intake lobe.

I agree that you could try the start procedure mentioned above.

570 cold starting

Canucklehead, do you touch the throttle during your start up procedure? I have the same problem with my FS570. If I use a quick squirt of starting fluid, it starts right up.

Maybe check the tps sensor. If you give some gas when you try to start the fuel is cut off. If that sensor is off the ecu might think you give a bit of throttle and cuts off the fuel.
