Hi all,
While riding my FS650e05 the clutch stopped working. I've checked the master Cyl and there is plenty of oil in it (ie no leaks), I havent pulled it apart as yet but it appears that the slave cly siezed in the open position. The clutch hasn't been adjusted etc and I believe it has the correct oil in it (has only been serviced by dealer).

I rocked the back wheel while in gear and its seems to have freed itself and have pressure on the lever again, though havent riden it.

Any ideas on what might have happened ?

Any suggestions on cleaning etc ?

Thanks,

welcome to UHE hubs. lets start by having your location and machine in your scribble so we know a bit more about you that we don't have to keep asking you?

ok so the service mechanic used mineral oil right? i would have said that for it to go for no reason is very strange and if the service was very recent i'd say, 'no' he didn't use the right juice. they go in under a fortnight with the wrong juice in it.

simply change all the fluid to be sure and just buy a 50 cent 'O' ring for the slvae piston. you need a stringe though to back bleed it.

regards

Taffy

Hi all,
update on above, yes the slave cyl has siezed open, caused by the clutch inner housing snaping off the main drive shaft, allowing too much fee play for the slave piston to handle.
Fortunatly appears that the inner housing is the only thing to have suffered serious damage. Hopfully this is one of those rarity failurs

Cheers
