Hi!
I have a FC470-02 with a "not working clutch"

Does anyone know what the problem could be if the clutch is just completely dead, nothing happens when i pull the handle while in gear.

I have just changed the stator and i havent even touched anything close to the clutch, and it was working just fine at the time the stator broke about a month ago. Since then the bike has been parked in my garage, has something jammed? Or what could have happened?

By the way! I also(as a first step) refilled the clutchsystem with new mineral oil yesterday but with no effect, i guess the problem is somewhere inside the cover...

Happy for any help i can get...

welcome to UHE. hope you get involved mate and do look at old archives and the doc etc. it's based mostly around an '02 400 so the hat should fit!

you have got to bleed the line. there is a chance that for no apparent reason, your 'O' ring in the clutch slave cylinder has gone. so replace this and get a syringe and pipe from your husaberg dealer.

this will sort it. there is the small chance that the clutch m/c has a seal gone but i don't think so.

oh and one thing you can do is to remove the slave cylinder and (lid off the m/c) push the piston in. you should get some air bubbles up at the m/c. try to do this with the steering of the bike turned right.

Ok! Thanks for the help. Is the slave cylinder located under the cover where the line enters the "engine"? And if so is there anything special i should think about before opening everything up and making a mess/destroying something?

Thanks for your reply!

yes it's there. just buy the syringe from a ktm/berg dealer and off you go!

don't grab the piston under that slave cylinder. it's a pathetic fir and i hope you can imagine this:

it's like 23mm across but only 5 mm deep so if you grab the button you will see in the middle, the piston will literally fall out! then you'll definately ned that syringe!

Thanks! Im gonna take a look at it tomorrow...

Ill post a reply and report the results... :)
