Clutch cover off?

Rick said when I got the clutch cover off I would probably know what damage is done. I pulled clutch cover and I am down to 1 nut that looks like it may have some damage to the metal around the nut? Its Sunday here and I cant get Ricks down. Do I remove the nut to get to were Rick wants me to go or did I remove wrong cover? I removed the pin in center all springs and plates and small pins. Thats were this non mechanic that wants to learn is at.

Please Help!!!!!!

Pretty sure he want you to remove the clutch basket.
Any metal or debris in the clutch cover side?

No metal so far. I have taken gotten to the point were all the clutch plates are off and the center pin I pulled out. I am now wanting to remove the center nut the pin came out of but it looks like there is some possible damage on metal around nut. Nut is fine it is like there was some small extension pieces over nut that show wear. It is hard to explain and I will wait for your responses. I will take a camera with me today if you think I should stop now. Thanks all!!
 
The damage you are talking about may be the nut locking tab. If so thats not an issue.
 
Got the clutch nut off (Thanks Berger). Opened it up and she looked good. I will be taking it over to Rick today.

I am sure Rick will have his recommendations but what do people in the forum feel is a must replace /wore out or not /when you get this far?

Are the notches 3 notches on the gears (1 BOTTOM 2 TOP) top dead center like a BMW?

sorta... the top two need aligned with the bottom one to properly time the counterbalancer. (see the diagram in the doc) it is not for cam timing. the dot on the lower one will be centered in line with the cylinder when the piston is at top center. always mark where they contact the clutch gear before pulling the clutch gear.
 
I learn something new and amazing on this site everyday lately. I had no idea about Docs site. I downloaded all the info and ate up 2 of the wife's ink cartridges. She actually complained I am on this site to much!!! I told her it was better than ****!! She agreed, I am sure glad she doesn't know that a person can run a history check on a computer. WHEW!!!!

OK,
Clutch covers off and I see no visible problems. The cam-chain looks great a real mechanic said and the gears show normal wear.

This all started with a overheat when I forgot she was idling for a oil change(phone call from work) I am wondering how much further I should go?
