My 390 2011 after the first use for long distance, feel and sound is not good. In fifth gears audible buzzing sound. specifically on the fifth gears only, on the other gears , including sixth gears no problem. Indeed from the first time at trial was gearshift feels rough and sometimes a bit difficult in the gearshift

Can anyone help and give an explanation, why the buzzing sound could be heard a special on the fifth gear? And how do I solve this problem.
:?

maybe incorrect machining from the factory on the fifth gear teeth, because your bike has all straight cut gears any imperfection during manufacture process will be create extra accellerated operation noise when running in mesh with another gear at speed.
maybe the pair of 5th gears are mismatched.
Straight cut gears make more noise than spiral cut gears thats why you car makes a noise in reverse gear and not forward as all your forward gears are spiral cut reverse is straight.
Maybe a warranty claim go see your dealer where you purchased

haven't seen inside the cover for this model yet but I would always chewck to see if the selector is free and clear and that there is no binding. If for any reason the bike should over or under shoot a gear you will get a whining noise in any gearbox.

Thank you for your response Mr Orangeberg and Mr Taffy
Then what about the gearshift feels rough? :(
once again if the 5th gears have a machining fault the engagement dogs on the side of the gears are not connecting properly ( meshing ) as Taffy said it will under or over engage and make a noise, maybe do what Taffy said and check the selector on the end of the shift drum behind the clutch basket it has a cam ( positioning star ) like attachment which a small spring loaded bearing rolls around and holds in the selected gear.
When you shift it through the gears by hand check that the bearing locates in the centre of the recess on the star and seats properly in the recess when you select 5th gear. if the bearing does not locate in the centre it will give you the indication that something is not aligned inside the gearbox.
Also check the torque of the single bolt that attaches the star to the drum they have been known to come loose and not torqued properly at the factory Loctite 243 should be used.
Above is the easy check that can be done externally before you go deeper into the engine. Some mechanical skills are still required
Hope this helps ORANGEBERG
