I bought boxes of very early kickstart knuckles back from Sweden and also those circa 2000-2003. So I made an arm up using the Husaberg knuckle and the aftermarket kickstart arm.
the first photo is of the standard set-up:
this is my first attempt which I've since sold so that it is getting used and tested:
if you look, there's a little 'nose' on the front which if I grind and remove will allow the kickstart arm around one more tooth but leave bare metal that can be painted.
here's the nose:
basically, I had to drill the arm out to 16mm so that the knuckle fitted, make a circlip groove and then it also has a spring loaded ball and a drilled recess in the front to locate the kickstart arm in the 'closed' position.
I also drilled ever so slightly off centre if you look.....
but the second effort will be a lot better.
I sold this one for 75GBP inc VAT which is 63gbp outside the EU.
it is a proper job to here. I also lockwired the rubber on. the idea is that in the long run, I get the top arm made to my specification.
be interesting to see how long the rubber stays on for someone who has to relentlessly keep kicking it. I suggest that the rubber will roll off the end....
