CHAINS..clip link or endless ?

Like the ease of using a master link & clip, as shown in 'berg parts book, but not convinced how secure. What do you guys out there use ? Old chain that came on bike was endless.
 
links ok if it faces the shock, if put on the outside like my bike was PD'd with :cry: it hits the frame and comes off, nasty.
 
Links work fine as long as you have the closed end facing the direction of rotation so it cant be knocked off.

they put mine on the right way, it just hit the frame to much, gotta be on the LHS not the RHS
