Greetings fellow Husaberg owners,
I am in dire need of a new CDI unit for my 1999 FE 501. I would be happy with a good second hand one if available. Have pity on me. I have had this bike for nearly 12 months now and I haven't been able to sort the ignition problems until now. Imagine having to walk past your Berg every day for a year and never get to ride it. Sheer torture....
On the bright side, I now have a good supply of spare parts. including a KTM CDI that I was informed would work on my Berg.
Any help appreciated

Hi Gntmurta,

Welcome to the UHE forum hope you find it interesting and informitive, if your Berg is a genuine 99 the KTM cdi will be of no use, to confirm the year can you measure the resistance between black and red and black and green should be 3000 and 165 Ohms +- 10%. Have you had your original cdi tested to confirm it is knackered?.

Yes, the original cdi is totally dead. I can get spark out of the KTM cdi, but the timing is way out. I even got it to run with the KTM cdi with an adapter to advance the timing, but it was pretty rough. The quote that I got for a new CDI for the 99 Berg is totally ridiculous. Know of any resonable supplers?
