In my 1st pic there is a what looks like a nozzel in the intake and it seems to be clogged. Can it be removed/replaced? 2007 FE550.
 
only with great difficulty. See those half moon bolts (the one on the left has yellow **** in it) have to be removed. they are loctighted in so must be heated up and THEN undone. the seal is bonded so again - HEAT IT - and prise apart. when you see the part, you can remove it and replace it.

where are you going to get one though? Sudco have gone.

fact is, they aren't really necassary but all the novices think they are and all the veterans know they aren't. flat spots in carburation are usually because the needle is an E series OB or OC and then E** like OBEVT they always have a flat spot.

Use an air "gun" or to drive air down the eye of the APJ hole back into the base of the carb. Use one with a rubber teet on the end to get a seal. It'll probably be clear after a bit of carb spray and all this will be a fuss over nothing.
