Hi I bought a husaberg being told it was a 600cc 1995 model but bought a oil filter for it to be the wrong size same as the spark plug I have the engine number can anyone shed any light on this for me??

Number is 1050752

Up until 1996 the oil filter was only a cleanable reusable screen. In 1997 the case design was changed and allowed for a cleanable screen and a paper oil filter.

When i went to change it behind the head it was a reusable one but was told the bike was a 600cc but not 100% sure it is

I don't think anyone has cracked the code on the first generation engine numbers. Measure the cylinder only length (base to head) and I will compare it to my 97 600.

What filter did you get ? Hiflo catalog says its HF155 for all early models

That's the filter I got but doesn't fit at all had a look at the frame and says it's a fc501 but don't know the year as the 10th digit is a 0

best to check the stroke by measuring a rod that slipe in onto the piston vertically. the stroke of the 600 is 85mm and the stroke of the 501 is 70mm. you can't get it wrong by 15mm can you?

Acording to the hiflo catalog hf 155 should work with all bergs up to 2008 so unless they gave you the wrong Filtre in the box marked hf155 cant see how it wont fit
Have you compared the old filter agsinst the new ?
Can you mesure the filter you got ?

Ok just realized its a 1995 so no oil pump and no oil filter just the screen
