So, I am new to the husaberg scene, but I have to tell you I am loving it.Three of us friends went together and bought the 06 line of fe's(450, 550, 650). I got the 450 and have found a major power difference between mine and the other two. In the woods it is all the power I need, however on the street it would be nice to be on the 550 or 650. In looking at all the specs of the three bike we found that the only difference between the three is the crank and rod. My question is, When it is time to do a top-end can I buy the crank and rod of the 550 and swap it out with that of the 450. May be a stupid question, but from what the three of us have read it looks like it can be done. I hope someone out there can help me out cause I would really love to do this, however dont want to waste the money or my bike in the process.

To the best of my knowledge, the cases are different for each of the three displacements. The parts manual will show this. So, it would be expensive.

450 and 550 may share the same cases. not sure either. agree - crank and rod.

I guess I should have said "The parts manual does show this." I have compared my 450 to a 550, and the cases are different. The height of the case is different, by maybe 1/8". Effectively, the valve cover for a 550 sits taller in the frame than that of a 450. I suppose the same relationship exists between the 550 and 650. And there should be a greater difference in height between the 450 and 650.
