can i drill my top triple for different bar clamps?

Hello i have. A 99 fc 501 i just bought 1 1/8 pro taper bars and clamps my problem is the clamp posts for the 1 1/8 bars is a bigger diameter than the stock so it won't fit can i drill the holes out too the right size ? Is there another tripple clamp i can use that will fit. Any help would be great if !
 
I drilled a set of ktm clamps to fit my berg risers. Mine was just a matter of enlarging a hole.
 
Myn will be the same just widining the hole for the bar clamps the posts that go into my tripple from my clamps is just a bit bigger than the stock holes so drill it is i guesss any tips ?
 
big bar conversion clamps are sold for other bikes. perhaps tere is one with bolts which are smaller than what you have now. I put these conversion clamps on my Suzuki DR 400 when I couldn't leave well enough alone on a play & guest bike and hotted things up.
 
I bought what is suppossed to be pro taper universal 1 1/8. bar clamps all the over sized bar clamps were the same size bolts so i thought no big deal one out mew in but the diameter is bigger about 16 to 18 mm and the stock bolts for the clamps are 14 mm
