Has anyone tried a NGK CR8EK instead of the standard C8E in the Gen 1 Bergs?

About 3 dollars compared to 8 for the EK.

These work just fine! Have used them for years on the old girls.

Thanks, apparantly no gapping required!

CR8EK is what I ran. Makes for easier starting and the bike actually runs better. The plugs last longer as well.

Husabutt, the r in the plug is good, resistor's for electric component's!
CR8E is the other option around, performance from the k was not felt. But will not hurt
imho.

I put a new plug in today. And a new air filter also as the old one was getting out of shape. Anyway, the plug was just the stock DCPR8E as I have ordered the Denso IXU 24. When it gets here next week I'll use the stock one as a backup. I had pulled out the DCPR8EIX that had been in there for a while. How many hours are we putting on the Iridium's around here?
I thought I'd try the Denso this time since Taffy highly recommends them.

I've put 50+hrs on mine so far & looks fine. At the price, I'll keep the standard plug n my bumbag & wait for this one to die I think. Definate yes to the easier starting & runs cleaner than the std plug.
