Hey,

im considering to buy a 2003 Husaberg 650. On this bike the owner has changed the bearings, chain, water pump, nad some more in the engine which obiously is a problem on these bikes. When the main bearings is changed, is the engine then safe? no problems? whats the reason this happens with this engines?

And the Electric start.. why are these so bad? seems like every bike has problem with it. why? any upgrades to do?

I also need some tips that i should look at on this bikes. Other parts thats bad or are a weak link. Never owned a Berg before so i need general information :)

need quick answer! i have this bike on hand!

thanks.

of the second generation engines, the '03 is the one to get. you will still have sem problems, but most other items are somewhat upgraded

I have had an '03 for 5 years. Its bulletproof. Just change the oil and ride.

this engine has been rebuilt recently with warranty. sorry for maybe making this a VS thread, but i gotta ask. 04 ktm 525 or the rebuilt husaberg? both clean bikes but the KTM costs about $1000 more than the berg.

i really cant decide and thanks for the DOC here, did not see it. useful info :)

you could lose your 1000 bucks upgrading the Husaberg if you care too. there's a lot to be done but at the end they can be made to start on the button and are reliable (trusting that the engine rebuild was done well....).

I do a large list of small mods at me ebay shop (see my signature).

as for riding: no comparison, the Husaberg is a far better bike and has real character.

regards

Taffy
