I broke one of the swingarm attachments (the rear one) to the chain guide. Is it possible to weld on the swingarm or am I relegated to replacing the swingarm?

Hi Mate, It should be easily weldable.

Where are you located

You will need someone who knows how to TiG weld aluminium it must be prepped properly almost surgically clean (buffed with a stainless steel wire brush) and it needs to be "Veed" out so the weld can penetrate.

I would do it for you but you are a bit too far away :D :D Good luck.

Steve

And after you get it welded back together make sure you go out and purchase the chain guide brace from Bullet Proof Designs. Their products are the BEST and I wouldn't ride without their chain guide brace or their radiator guards, absolutely nothing beats them!!

Naturally, I had installed all the Bullet Proof Designs guards except the swingarm guard. I went to the 70 degree racing site and ordered the swingarm guard. The site says in regards to the swingarm "If a tab bends or breaks, the only option is to replace the swingarm".

I was able to install the guard as a "repair" to the broken rear tab. The guard is so strong (you drill and tap two bolts to the swingarm itself) and reinforces the tab significantly. I do not expect to have any future problems with the swingarm tabs.

confused here. did you have the swingarm welded or did you just use the BPD brace as the repair?
