Because I wear down a lot of pads & disks I'm always looking for the best deal.
And although I'm very pleased withe the price and overall quality of, for instance, GoldFren brake pads I do prefer the original stuff so I tried to source down the original hardware.

Through KTM the pads and disks are very expensive, the rear pads for the » 2009 models are a whopping € 80,64! RRP.
Does anyone knows a EU based supplier of Brembo or Galfer parts for for dirtbikes?
Of course I googled but I only find suppliers for the faster street bikes or car parts.

I also noticed that the »2009 models have Toyo brakepads. The pads actually come from Brembo if I'm not mistaken. Can someone shed a light on this? The only info I found is an offial KTM press communiqué with the usual crap that all magazines and sites copy.

Thanks,
Adriaan

Whatever you do, dont buy the cheap ($5.00AU) pads off ebay ! I had a brand new set on & went for a 6 hour ride with Popup weekend just gone. They disintergrated to bear metal. Was wet but farout

I've used the OEM sintered pads before and find them to last the longest so far.

Hi Wildman,

I agree, the original brake parts give the best results. But although KTM parts are very reasonably priced all parts that KTM has to buy from secondary companies like Brembo, DID, Magura, etc, are always very expensive. For Magura I found the local importer and the price difference is remarkable.
But Brembo, originating in Mafia-country, seems to protect it's interest very good.
After some digging i found out the that brake disks for the later models are made by Galfer, a spanish company.
Thje quality is quite good but again the KTM price is over the top.

Capitalist free trade in the EU is just a hollow frase. All manufacturers are trying to force their clients to buy through their channels » KTM Power Parts for example.
