I was wondering if it was worth cleaning up the ports of my fe550 while i've got the head stripped after its little mishap. i was thinking a mild porting, how ever i'm not looking for top end power as i'm using off road and wouldn't want to spoil the torque at low revs.
any thoughts,
Jockular.

in that case jockular i would just clean the entrance into the head from the rubber block. press the rubber blocl down as much as possible and as long as it doesn't fall below the top edge of the head you should machine the bottom.

all the porting work is in the exhaust ports anyway.....

is that so? i didn't know it could improve much on a husa, porting that is...
what needs to be done to the exhaust ports on a husa 550 for example?
anybody got any pics on their porting job?
maybe it's not that easy to give away your "secret" when you've done your porting work on your own bike...asking is free of charge ,right? :D

thanks for any input,hannes.

yes it's free alright. try looking up the doc. that's free as well.

Taffy
