Brand New FS650 Husaberg 2005 LTD edition (it's BLK/Yellow) for $11,600 (incl z-Start & rear brake kit) plus QLD rego. Basic stats:- 63hp, 112kg electric start!

anyone got any opinions i am looking at this or the new 07 DRZsm both about the same moeny with rekluse and brake kit (DRZ will need a few mods to bring power up)

please post will be deciding soon

things i know nothing about /wrenching

we have a ktm outlet here(but not a good city one)

is it worth it for the power and proformance of berg or go with good rock solid drz

What type of riding - road, bush, motard ??

Most people in here love the bergs regardless of mainstream sales and some occasional reliability problems with some years/models. They are known as a performance bike and as such require some extra maintenance - thats the price for living on the edge :) Most in here can answer you better than me though especially about any specifics for the 05 model.

the '05 is a good bike, we have only had issues with the main bearings. that's it. the rest is good. and believe me, if it goes wrong - we find out here!

the berg will destroy the suzuki in every area except the engine reliability in that i've never ever heard of the suzuki donk going wrong at all whatsoever.

people don't race the suzuki. not if they can help it as it's very heavy and the husey is the LIGHTEST out there.

hmm sound very good i am really thinking hard and maybe getting this
PS i need the rekluse cos i lost my left leg at the knee joint about ten years ago so if i get the rekluse and the lhrb kit i can just run linkage round front (maybe inside frame mount on two points at front and run it back to right foot to do gears)and i am good to go.
i am no wrench jocky but i can do oil and stuff what scares me is the talk about a big service at 75 hours and stuff like that i got three kids and a wife that isway too kind in that she lets me spend more than i should.

really just looking to hear that if i do the simple stuff all the time and look after it it will have a good solid bike for a good number of years(wife still pissed at me for losing money on last bike i brought a good amount of money)
anyway its going to be 98% hard road riding thats what i want it for we have nowhere to ride out here in nowhereland so i will just be blasting it to work and back and around town on my days off i want the power so i can stay in the saddle and still get the front wheel up now and again (get my thrills and keep my lic).

will have to mod the left foot peg but as i siad i have been riding all the time since i lost my leg and this is pretty stardard for me now.

PSS if i had the bearing issue what would it run me to get fixed etc etc.(that BTW was what killed my GXR<<<<the bike my wife hates)

someone else will have to answer that. try a bloke called a dealer. what you do is, you get hold of the phone and you press some ...... i think you get the idea!!!!

thing is, a dealer will deny there are any chances of a failure so....

go into the doc and read up on it. the big thread on it is less than a month old so i suggest ypou go find that in

forums
mechanical

The Rekluse auto clutch and the 650 won't get along too well. It won't handle the torque of the 650. This info is straight from Rekluse.

See if your dealer can get a Revloc brand instead. Otherwise, the possibility of ongoing clutch issues will exist.

well that just about seals it i will get the DRZ400SM (got offered one for 9000 AU to my door so thats 500 under what my local dealer can do thats with 250 feight)thansk for all the help.

There is a joint in Sydney doing 05 berg FS650e for $10,500 ride away. U sure you dont want to change your mind?
