On Saturday, May 22nd, I brought home my very first Husaberg. It is a humble little '99 fe400. Plastics are rough, but the mechanicals are simply outstanding. It has a Big Gun exhuast (loudest SOB I ever heard) and a Scotts steering damper. This little 400 has vastly exceeded all my expectations. I hesitated buying the bike at all because the engine was so "small". I am a big-bore two stroke guy. Well, I was. I also own a fully un-corked xr650r. It is nearly new (6 months old). This little 400 'berg has way, way, WAY more motor than my big red Honda! It has more low end torque. It has more midrange. It has more top-end. And it has two-stroke-on-the-pipe throttle response, everywhere. It simply outperforms the much larger Honda in every respect. What is really cool, is that even in 5th and 6th gear, when that 'berg motor revs high enough to come on the cams, it spins the rear wheel. Its just SICK. I simply can not imagine what a 550 or 650 berg must feel like. My fellow berg enthusiasts, I am hooked. HOOKED. I am going to vegas this weekend to do some riding with some xr650r buddies. They are gonna **** when they get smoked by a little 400. This is going to be a very interesting weekend. Well, thanks to so many of you guys who helped me decide to get a berg. Powercell and Unklemoose especially. I have finally found a bike that truly fits. :D

That's a great story burgermiester - almost brings a tear to my eye. I wouldn't consider buying anything other than a Husaberg.

Yeah, one ride and I was hooked too. Bergs are the best-kept secret in the motorcycle world.

Welcome to the fraternity!

Burgermiester,

Glad to hear you are happy with the bike! I bought my first Berg last August ('02 FC550/6) and I absolutly love it. The sound of those gears whinning is truly music to my ears. It is the appitimey of a "thumper". There is now way I will ever be back on another honda or yamaha. Every time I pull it from its pen, people have to come over and look it up and down and marvel at the craftsmanship. It is truly a masterpiece 8) Hope you have many good dreams about your new bike and may the Force be with you.....
