This Husaberg Forum is an incredible place to share experience !! Thanks keep it like that option 1 for sure.
I will first introduce myself.
I am Dominique a 53 years old guy, still young when I ride an enduro bike and twist the throttle. I leave near Lyon, not so far from one the best place to ride Enduro in France : Brioude area.
I started to ride and race with Husaberg bikes in 1992, specially with the 350 engine that was the best 4 stroke ever produced in this period. The 350 was totally adapted on the way we play Enduro race in France.
I ran with 1992, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1999 models I had a lot lot of fun with these bikes and I never had any mechanical problems, even in the hard race.
Then I sold the last Husaberg I had an I turned to KTM 400 2001 that was built onto Husaberg engine. I still ride now, just for fun, and hard Enduro. I turn to SHERCO 250 two stroke engine it is really an amazing bike highly effective one ! But in one way with a "sanitized" ride feeling...
About 20 something years latter and with a little bit of nostalgia by thinking again about this golden period, I decided to search a 1992 350 and a 501 Husaberg model.
I finally found two in very bad condition but the base is a good one to be rebuilt.
So from now, I an starting to rebuilt it, not as new bike but as an used one in very good conditions using original used parts to do so.
First I totally dismantle the bike, the frame was painted by the previous owner with an horrible black colour.
So I search the RAL colour of the original Husaberg Grey 1992, If someone can help me it will be very fine.
Then I will take care of the engine, rebuilding and upgrading it as new.
I will post some pix later on when my project will moves forward.
Best regards from France !!!
