The text below the header "Husaberg Billet topp" is about our very own Dr C and his work designing his very own billet aluminium cylinder head.
The main story is that he wanted more power and could not get the valve size he wanted due to that the valves were to close together. So he designed a new one with the valves further apart. This meant he had to make new rocker arms (correct word?) to fit the new head. Intake was increased from 37mm to 40mm and exhaust from 30mm to 34mm.

I've had a small dream for some time now about JBS's 750cc kit matched with DR C's billet head. Just imagine what kind of power that would make

Do they have to customize the rocker cover as well? In this case new rocker arms might be necessary, but I think you mean "rockers", the things held in place by the rocker arms and activated by the cams.

Pretty amazing stuff if you ask me.

And I know of one engineer with his own shop, who rides a Husaberg.

I will send this to him, just to give him an idea...

Cheers folks!
I used the stock valve cover, but with good use of the extra bolts through the rocker pivot shafts, close to the cam sprocket. The rocker arms are machined (billet) to fit the relocated valves. I used 14mm rocker pivot shafts, to minimize flex. I've got some pics in my galley ("Dr_C", strangely enough sorted under "s"...)

that's json!

ih we have countless hours of fine finding things he's hidden away!

@dr c

Is there a post on this site or can you give us some more informations about the engine concerning power, torque and reliability

Hi Celly76!
The last dyno run was from one year ago. I have asked for a diagram a couple of times, but still no success. The motor was suffering from intake valve float, so power was dropping off from 8500rpm. There was no attention done to get proper squish. However the power peaked at 75,5 RWP and torque was 75 Nm. I had 56 RWP on this very dyno on a -02 650 with 470-piston without having fiddled with anything else. The cylinder head itself works beautifully, but the main bearings needs to be replaced frequently. The rear tyre is not so happy about the situation... :)

There is undoubtedly some more to gain for the ambitious tuner.

RWP means rear wheel power? That´s a lot. Did you remove the counter balancer? Next year i will be attending a race series called monobike cup. It is allowed to have 70 HP at the rear wheel but my biggest concern is the reliability cause of the main bearings. I think i have to read the main bearing thread but that´ll cost me a couple of hours cause i´m german. Which bearings do you use and after how many hours do you have to replace them?

My german is even worse than my English... Sorry!

Depending on wether you want to keep the counter balancer, or loose it, there are different approaches for choosing main bearings.

Well in the end i´m not able to speak or wright even one swedish word except smoerebroed. From the muppet show.

Ok, 13,7:1 is pretty high. The reason why i´m always trying to find more power in combination with more reliability is that this bike or sort of bike would be a real weapon with arround 90 HP. The last handy cap compared to a street racer is the power.
