I just pulled down the motor after finding a part of a seal spring on my drain plug and black matter turns out to be the seal on the mains on the cam chain side seal is gone no damage apart from mess anyone got a idea why this might have happend? the bike run fine but was feeling a bit lazy low down. I am decided to pull it down and replace the mains what are the best mains to go for now days? The ones in it seem ok maybe a bit too much end float but not gone thank god. Glenn

RE: Big end seal blow out why? what are the choice bearings

check the amount of endfloat before breaking the engine.

roller mains are the best. i have them in stock at £46 each.

the specials are listed quite clearly in the long mains thread that dropped off the screen only this week so they will be in mechanical i think.

sometimes when people feed a crank through, they turn the lip out. this may have eventually had enough and fallen/worn away. they will have flicked the spring out as they fed the crank in. not to have seen it when fitting the crank gear makes them blind as well as stupid.

regards

Taffy
