Hi all,

I'd like to put on my bike the 6 piston brake from beringer. Can I still use the standard fte master cylinder? Can you help me? Ah, I have a 2008 FS 650 e...

Hi.
If you want to use the Std FTE it will work fine, even better than with the 4 piston, its a bit hard to press when the 4 piston radial caliper is used.
The 6 piston caliper needs a bit more oil due to more pistons to move, so the mastercyl will feel a bit more sensitive in my opinion.

@SuperMotoMike: went today a the shop, it seam I don't need a new fork leg bottom from an FE...hope they are right...
 
I think you do need the FE part.

This is the original FS radial mount caliper...

Yes a new bottom part is required and easy to change.
A wise and a heatgum, use a big wrench, just heat up the part due to its filled with loctite.

I prefer this set-up due to its the best if you only have one bike and want to ride all year around.
Just swap wheels and brakes.

uhm, ok... so it's clear I have to change the bottom part and that at the shop gave me a fast but wrong answer. Just one more for you, since the 6 piston beringer need a new bottom part, is this radial like the fte?

This part is the same as on the Enduro/MX forks, its NOT Radial.

This makes it possible to also fit your future MX caliper when you go out with your 21" wheel and do some serious offroading.

Bump, as I'm looking for the same info. Also, does anyone have any pics of the six piston installed on an FS?
