Anyone know if bergdaddy still makes the aluminum rad louvers in his gallery? I have the BOSS guards but they restrict too much air at low speed in the CA desert during the summer. I know Dirt Rider pulled them off their 650 test bike and guys like Dylan Debel have had issues as well. I have tried everything else and bleed the system three time every time I try another brand of coolant.

I have a set I can get rid of. PM me if you want them.

As for the air circulation issue, I have added PC Fans behind mine, 100 CFM each, it gives an edge.

I'll make photos!

The Bergdaddy guards are no longer available. If you run the big tank from BOSS you will have enough room to add the OEM fan. Between the fan and factory louvers cooling should be vastly improved. If you have a 00-05 bike you will either have to do some fab work for the thermostat or run it off of a switch.

I just said I have a free set to give him, Ken. Phew. Otherwise, yes, you can put a fan behind the BOSS guards, in a Push configuration.

Frog,

Gracias on the offer, I'll pm you me info. I just can't stand those cheesy plastic stock louvers.

I know Nic. I have seen your guards before. It's a fair price, but only if you include the shipping :D

Yes, especially since they are free, but then again what the result of dividing by zero?

Is berger's response leading me to believe they are in poor shape?

Hey K-dub, I can help out with some of the Boss rad guards and over heating issues. Jimmy Lewis of dirt rider and I had a talk about this issue, it would seem that they were over heating there 650 on a very tight single track trail while in third gear and abusing the clutch. They knew that they were in way too high of a gear, but the gobs of torque created by the 650 let them get away with it. This type of riding over heats the oil and the slow speeds do not allow the air to flow. In the end Jimmy put the guards back on with a fan kit, and I have not heard a complaint since. As for Dylan's issues I don't know, but I have made close to 150 or more of these guards for Boss with very few complaints, have you tried a fan yet? Are you slipping the clutch a lot? Inquiring minds want to know. :D
