Hi
Being a Husaberg owner ('03 FS650e) for approx 40hrs, am wandering if anybody else has experienced their kickstart breaking!
The shaft coming out of the casing that attaches to the arm has sheared!

Does anyone have any idea of cost for this part?

Bit gutted, I wanted my first post on the forum to be how much I've enjoyed riding it :(

It happens, especially with the 650's. After you replace the shaft you will have to make sure your auto decompression devices are adjusted properly and working. As for the cost, I cant answer that although I dont think it's too bad.

ciao,

I broke mine also, they replaced mine in warranty.... there is a better part I guess from 2004 onwards that should last better, and it is interchangable.

They asked over 100€ when I tried to search the part, but in the end the dealer where I bought it took care of it as they are honorable and honest italian Ducati dealer.

Thank chaps

If I manage to get the thing going using the electric start, is it safe to ride?
Just wandering if the shaft coming through the casing could fall in to the engine (does the kicker arm hold it in place)
I would think it does but I'd like to be sure before i start it!!

Thanks
Ian

if you want to ride using just the leccy button then you'll be fine. as said it is a bit of a problem on 650s of that time but i've seen others as well on smaller engines.

some of it could be your starting technique!

regards

Taffy
