HELP , things were looking good , i was on the gas it was pulling like a train . then it locked up
nearly threw me over the bars .

i have not found out what the cause is yet , but it is not good . :censored:

snapped crank taff ???

what i can tell you so far is that i live in a world of hurt :hang:

the above emoticon is symbolic to my state of mind

i find out soon what the cause was [ snivell ] .

now you see, i would do it for free and pay for the parts if i was coming down to oz as part of my world tour. sadly the WT stops at nevada. i'll keep trying. my new girlfreind is coming down in january (needs a break from me!) and she can bring any contraband down you need.

take photos mate and we'll help.
WE FEEL YOUR PAIN. (BULLSHI...)

regards

Taffy

thanks for the kick in the guts , at this - my lowest point taff , you're all heart mate !!!

metal all thru the motor , major rebuild required .

recieved offer to sell the bike as is , seriously considering letting it go .

if anybody is interested in the range of spare parts i have ,like the force bashplate 06 and more, just pm me . :crybaby:

sorry to hear that fella, a real shame.

don't do anything in haste, just ask for a few days to reflect on it.

it might be just the bearing or what else is damaged?

counter balancer bearing failure

Bad news whosa, sorry to hear it :( .

Would like some more info please-

counter balancer bearings themselves or the intermediate shaft that drives it??

How many hours on the failed bearings??

i have not examined the damage as yet ,i do know that there is lots of metal been pumped around . one piece of swarf is 75 mm long .

i have just sold the bike to a mate who has a few bikes and 1 spare motor .

i will look at the 08 berg

i have had enough of the problems , but it was the constant weep hole problems that put me
off this generation of bergs.

in saying that there is nothing as quick and handle as good and sound so good like the berg .

no offence to anyone . :moon:

AUSBERG i forgot your question

as for the other damage, i can't say as i off loaded it as above , i say about 50 hrs on the rebuilt motor .

i did notice a vibration just before it went chernobyl :crybaby:

50 hours after rebuild sucks !!! What would be the cause of the bearing failure ? Happening to rebuilt and new bikes. This is scary !!! So much so that since I found some metal in my screen a while ago, the continual failures are making me worried to even ride my bike. Can't do a bearing if the bike is in the shed !!!

Not sure if I can afford the hours of care and stress of buying another hassleberg (on top of costly up keep and low resale - especially if blown up). New WRF with alloy frame (YZ influenced) got great reviews in Australian Dirt Bike and you jump on them and go.

i'm sure the WRs are better now but i had two loads of trouble with mine. it is an established engine now though so good chance that it delivers.

to think the husaberg engine is one of the oldest ones out there and it's still going wrong. it seems absurd that you can finally get the 400 and 501 running right so you bump them up 50cc!

i can tell you that the pork chop can rub against the flywheel. first time you will have read that anywhere i believe but i have heard mine on the bench so it's not a good start is it!

that will induce vibration and oscillation.

Taffy

whosahberg, what year and model berg. Just bought an 06 fe 450. Is this a constant problem for other hussys. Maybe should have listened to my mates and got KTM? Im already nervous owning a TM, VOR,Husky. TM and husky have so far been bullet proof, VOR another story.

I have an FE450e, 115 hours no issues. I was reading the other bearing post as well.

I read this by dale:

"Post 2000 Husaberg engine main bearing failure most often appears on large displacement models being used on Tarmac. "

but I dont want to comment as I am not knowledgable on the motor parts in question

bigbob, reading some of your posting I see that you are a motoexotica guy also. Dan and Ann are great people. Any advice on suspension set up tips?
Ohlins on other bikes not really up to speed on WP.
I live up in Grass Valley and ride mostly single track with a little high desert to keep things interesting.

My DRZ S I modified to death. My Husky TE510 I did Dicks Racing suspension re-valve and new rear spring - had to the sag would not stablize. My weight is 250. You would think I need suspension work on my berg, but this being my 3rd bike I have learned to mold myself around the bike. I added the Husaberg tall seat and moved the bars forward, added handguards and skid plate and THAT"S all. The stock suspension all I did was let out fork compression two clicks to soften it up for rocks. The bike works so good stock. I adjusted the sag for my weight and it stays put. I don't see the need to pay Dicks Racing $700 for a new rear spring and re-valve job.........though I bet if I did that the Bike would be aweomely even better. love it as is

short story long, I haven't touched the stock suspension other then those two clicks out on fork compression. the Bike works great..on small water bar jumps it does not bottom and yet it's supple and soft in rocks and it turns great all with my weight of 250. Magic bike.
