The site was well represented again with Coronaberg, Brenden, Svendog, and myself. I had a good time ridding with the guys again and some new ones as well. We had a group of 6 and the size was just right and we were all about the same speed so no problems there. I think we need to get some stickers from the site to identify us. Brenden said it was like having our own gang. ( note to self: look into having stickers made) I must say the Bergs in attendance ran flawlessly. The only problem with them was that of a poor wrench. Now you all know how good looking Coronaberg's bikes looks, you know like he don't ride them, well the poor guy forgot to tighten his rear axel nut and lost it on the trail. No worries just some bailing wire and a few zipties and he was good for the last 100 miles!
The roll chart was by far the WORST thing I have ever tried to use and if it was not for the GPS I would have been lost for good and even with the GPS I have to admit I got us lost several times while leading but we also got lost with Corona leading .
Only two get off's that I know of. Nobody saw mine just the dust that was left behind by a 20 mph low side in the fluff dust. The same cant be said of Jeff. He was a little too close to me on a steep downhill that was very dusty with a dogleg with a hole. Well he didn't see the hole and took a trip over the bars and his buddy Svendog was following too close also and ran into him. A few minutes to straighten the front wheel and dust him off and we were on the trail again.
Great scenery and fun trails and I have the GPS track so I think this is a ride that I would like to do again when there is more moisture and less people. I'll have to talk Brenden into it since it is only an hour from his house.
All in all a good weekend with some friends from Moab and some new ones that were good to meet. I hope to ride with Brenden's buddy Kyle when he comes to Fallon this fall.
Coronaberg, Svendog, and Brenden, it was hot as h#ll but I had a great time.
Im off to Portland for a week talk to you guys later.
Thanks
Bob
