I Might sound stupid here but are the balance bearings the ones that are in the casting were the crank goes through

The balancer bearings are the skinny ones that are in the balancer itself on the left hand side of the crank itself. It might look like one normal bearing at first.
On my service disc its on page 37 or section D4.

How's the engine looking damage wise?

The big end bearings gone and the the bearing in the left hand caseings is stiff to move move so wS goin replace it but not sure what it's called all I can see is " balance bearings " for sale , thought it be crank case bearings ???? just got manual but haven't had a good look at it yet

Can't remember if my main bearing stayed in the casing or on the crank when I split the cases. No mains advertised on eBay that I can remember, I got my 650 ones from a local bearing specialist. DCR supplied the bearings for my 450 rebuild.
The skinny bearings on eBay are the balancer ones.
