made to allow your calfs to rest against and reduce arm fatigue, made to screw into the rear sub mount holes.
Can't wait to try them out (is not bolted up tight in these pics)

Re: Home made steg pegz/leg pegs

took me a second to spot it.

i assume the idea is to lock you calf into it for improved control.

woulda skateboard wheel or supermoto mushroom of the appropriate size also do the job?

Re: Home made steg pegz/leg pegs

Maybe a road bike handle bar end weight would do the trick.

Are you willing to sell a set?

No sorry, since posting this thread i have already had one pm from a certain business claiming i have copied their patent and threatened legal action....

not hard to make though, 40 diameter x 40mm wide, remove the existing bolts from there and copy the tapered section.
Yeah i'm sure skateboard wheel would work just fine, have heard of people doing this before

Gee, I've never seen anyone selling these so how can you be violating a patent that they don't have? What company contacted you???

A company in Australia who makes similar products claims to have a patent

what a bunch of ******s!

if they didn't charge so much for stuff all nobody would bother "copying" it

you should have used an old drive pinion gear and said the teeth provide magnetic gyroscpical stability transfered to your calf muscle nerves

Im making a set of side tanks with a step in them so they can sue me too :p :p

I honestly don't think they would waste their time or money to try to prove a chuck of aluminium bolted to the side of my bike is a direct breach of their patent.

The knobs does not seem to me like they have any height of invention, or originality, especially if it is known practice to use somewhat similar contraptions for the same purpose. A patent that would burst like a balloon?
It would be fun if they sued people and if then later the patent is challenged and found to be void, they would have to pay back any damage they caused, or sued to do so and pay for it all. And they will not look good in the eyes of the riding public, who might prefer to not having anything to do with them in the future.
I think they will thread with great care. I would have thought that they would like be too careful to peck on one guy making his own two ali skateboard wheels and put them on his own bike, or a couple for his friends.

I made a set for my Berg and found them quite annoying. Especially going downhill.
The bulge at the front of the rear fender is actually in a better spot.

i think a lot of it comes down to where you position your boot on the peg. i vary this so i don't chew out the soles of my boots in just the one spot. on level ground i usually just have the front of the heels on the pegs, then move the boots back during climbs. so bowser's positioning works perfectly for both. then just widen the legs and slip past the rubbers for downhill runs. but stegz pegz or leg pegs or home made ones won't be everyone's cup of tea, for sure.

on the patent front, i googled around and guys were doing home made jobbies years ago and you can find them saying on forums that stegz pegz took up their idea. so the legal concept of it being "novel" (e.g. a new invention) is very shaky ground, let alone a pile of other legal requirements to pursue alleged infractions on a pending patent.

After visiting the Finke Desert Race last year and seeing about 95% of the bikes at scrutineering had them fitted I figured there could be some advantages. Got some Stegz for Christmas last, and after some fine tuning of their position on my 07, find them very useful. I discovered I don't stand symmetrically o the bike. I'm now standing on steep uphills in particular where previously I would have had to sit. Work for me for sure.
