hi all been out on my bike today fe 400 and someone asked me if it was still restricted i didnt think it has ever been :? he was riding his xr400 and keeping up with me 8O what do you think
 
xr's can go if ridden well so i suggest you ride a bit faster.

where are you as bikes were set up differently for different countries.

but in all seriousness there isnt any restrictive gear to strip of of the 03 400 and if there was i would have thought that it would have been done by now as its 6 years old.

what have you got the ignition mapping switched too?

its back too front in that the low setting was for general riding whilst the Hi setting is for starts and really muddy going, giving you a stronger bottom end at the expense of some top end.

if you havent got the switch i believe the default was low, which i what you want it to run in most of the time anyway.

other than that have a look through the 'owners doc' on the left which covers your bike.

i had an 03 fe400 and they were a really easy bike to ride fast all day, and as you say the xr4, as good as they are, should be behind you.

you know what cypher you might be right i am riding it like my xr4 i will ride it like i stole it next week and see what he says then :lol:
