i'm keen to keep the FE570 quiet and do my bit to keep riding areas open, but also not keen on that hot exhaust so close to the tank etc.

aftermarket pipes are usually pretty expensive here down under but can get a lexx shipped over from the states for only $220 and thought that is pretty cheap. they say its 96db which i figure would have to be close to the stock pipe?

anyone got comments on the quality, noise level, any performance differences?

I had the very same thoughts a while ago when I saw how cheap the LEXX mufflers are online. While I havent actually heard one myself, I have been told by a couple of fairly reliable sources that they are quite loud. Some like this but I would prefer the benefits of a cooler, free flowing pipe along with a quiet note. I am also keen to know if anybody has first hand knowledge of these pipes although Im fairly certain Im going to splash out on the FMF power bomb system in the end. Im sure the akros are the biz but they are just so expensive!

I have the Lexx on my '11 570. I can't compare it too much to the stock one since I put it on immediately after I got the bike. I read some where that the Lexx is made by FMF. Not sure if that is true though.

It is pretty quiet on the 570 but you don't need to flog the 570 that much. I have a FMF Q on my 250sxf and think it is louder than the Lexx. That is probably more due to how you have to ride the 250 vs the 570. The Lexx isn't a light muffler and is probably pretty close to the weight of the stock can. For the price you can't beat it. I gave it a try because it was half the price of a FMF Q. So far so good.

gone ahead and ordered it, will post my impressions once tested on a ride or two. i figure it must be louder than stock but it looks pretty easy to make it quieter if needed. i remember getting a leo vince for a TE610 and not liking the bark in mid range, but restricting it a little made a big difference to the noise and not much to the power.

lexx said that the same pipe is used for the ktm 450exc, 500exc, 530xc and the fe390, fe450 and fe570. they just put different model numbers on each pipe so they can see which bikes this particular lexx pipe is being used on. or in other words, the LXKTM19 is the same lexx pipe as the LXHUS10.

got the lexx, it was shipped over to aust in only four days by courier. bit faster than the usual two weeks by usps...

certainly looks like a quality piece of gear. doesn't sound any louder than stock throughout the rev range which is a nice surprise. i've only been around the block a few times and there doesn't seem to be a change in power delivery but probably wont know until i've had a decent ride on it (haven't flashed the ecu yet either, the old five minutes on idle to reset it). interestingly, the info sheet says to replace the muffler material every 25 hours of operation (!!!) so i wonder if it won't be long before it starts to get loud?

only issue i had was it wasn't going to clear the rear tire fully when the suspension was compressed. i used one of the thick washers from the original pipe to add to the spacer on the lexx pipe on the forward mount. this pushed it out another 20mm or so and i think the tire will just clear, and it just avoids hitting the rear side panel. the rear tire is only a 130 so not sure why it didn't line up properly, i'm sure i installed everything correctly. possibly lexx never actually fitted it up to a berg but just relied on it working because the berg uses ktm mufflers?

will post more info in a week or two after a good test ride in a week or two. but so far looking like great value for $180, you guys in the states get everything so cheaply. :(

all good, done a fair bit of riding with the new lexx slip on now. i was on a motocross track last weekend and figured if i had clearance issues (see earlier post) i'd have the rear tire hitting the lexx but no probs there. the noise level has picked up a bit, i assume as the muffler packing firms up a bit? i'd say it's a bit louder than stock now but still surprisingly quiet.

still hard to say if there's been a performance improvement, but i didn't buy it for that reason. i have noticed occasionally it stalls when cracking the throttle at low revs and i suspect the problem may be that i reflashed the ecu by idling for five minutes on a cold winter morning. i've just read temperature is one of the variables taken into account by the ecu so will reflash in warmer conditions. i haven't messed around with taking the quiet insert out yet so not sure if that would make a difference.
