I've been reading a lot of very positive reviews on the Heidenau K60 Scout tires on other sites. Just wondering if any members have tried these out. Would the 150/70B18 fit a stock '11 FE570, or should I go with the 140/18-18 size for the rear?

I was going to go with the K60 Scout 90/90-21 up front, or would the Conti TKC80 be a better choice?

I have been using the bike mainly as a commuter on asphalt roads. The stock Metzler 6 days are about shot at 1000 miles on them. I would like to mount tires that would last a good while longer, not be as squirelly on the road at speed, but still have respectable performace off-road.

Any feedback and pics would be greatly appreciated.

I have currently K60 Scout's on my FE 570. I didn't have car last spring, so I had to drive daily about 30km to work with my Husa. I check tomorrow how many kilometres I have been run with my Scout's and take couple pictures. Mainly my drive was 50/50 on asfalt and on gravel. I have been very satisfied about Heidenau's, they don't shake on highspeed and traction on wet asfalt is moderate.

My experience the TKC is the better choice for the front. This is what I'm using with a Michelin Desert rear.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

rossb, from what I've been reading, the TKC would be the better choice for off-road conditions, as it has a more aggresive "knobby" profile than the K60. How is it on paved roads? Does it vibrate and wander at speed? How is it on wet roads?

I've never had my 570 going faster than about 65-70 MPH on asphalt. Any faster than that speed and the front end vibrates and wallows so much that it feels like it's going to fall off or go into a "tank slapper" at any moment. Not a very pleasant sensation at all. 8-O

When I mount the new tires I'm also gonna see what I can do to balance them as best as I can. I was planning on using Dyna Beads to dynamically balance them, but from what I have read, I guess you can't use the beads with the TUbliss system, which I also plan on using with the new tires.

The TKC is a 50/50 tire with a speed rating up to 160kph, I think. My bike also starts to wallow above 130kph. Its not from the tires.
My HP2 is stable up to 200kph with TKC's
