Has any one any news on the 07 bikes yet? Seems to be lots about K*ms out already

Well gentlemen, I really hope that they do some real developement work on the stallions this time.

The bikes are still good but if you look closely from lets say 2002 to 2006, in my opinion very little is going on.
Reliability has been added which of course is fantastic, but where is the original thinking of Mr. Gustavsson and Roland Öhrn i humbly ask???
I thought the were supposed to be "developers"

Somwhere there is Restriction...........................

Please not another BNG (Bold new graphics) a switch from Brembo to some other maker or whatever....

Now, how about a new chassis with (hopefully) a truly small well designed tank which gas an aux tank stock under the seat.
Keep the air filter design .
The next generation of engine please, I mean; IS ANYBODY OUT THERE!!!!

Husaberg are losing their identity, It is not as special as it was before to own one.

If this dullness and uncreatitivity keeps on going, these once great bikes will head to the road of XR Honda´s and EXC KTMs.

Hell, they already are on that road.

With good intentions,
Best from Iceland,

Well said Heimir,
I own a 1990 Berg which is full of character, i'm thinking i have to swap to a new Berg as the 1990 character also includes lots of breakdowns :D , but i'm having problems in that i cant really decide if i like the new ones or not? they seem to be the same as lots of other bikes now... a few short years ago the decision would have been clear cut... but what are the reasons nowadays for buying a new Berg over some of the other more reliable bikes? i'm all for spending a bit extra on maintainance etc if the bikes worth it.... but are they?

and its very true , husaberg is controlled by another company .
the'pitbull ' with so much potential is kept on a short rope ,
otherwise' it will get into the neighborhood and tear everyone to bits '

do you all comprende , capuche , savvy ???

Hhhmmm, but if the intention is to just paint Husabergs orange...basically sell the same bikes with different names... why keep the brand at all? I think Husaberg are being used for the development, but the products of that development are being used on the Orange bikes and being withheld from the bikes they were meant for...

if husaberg was independently owned , with unlimited funds available , and mr lineaweaver in charge of R&D , what type of
bergs would be on the loose .

dream on :signyeah:

There WILL BE a narrower tank in 07. At least that's what the Norwegian importer told me a while back.

Any chance of a black version of it :?:
..how about EFI :?:... in '07 or later :?:

TIA,

Well fellow riders, that´s what they said in 2006, and what did we get ?
A tank which has less capacity, but feels very similar in size. Is that progress my friends, I humbly ask.??

It´s about time they use the space under the seat with a small tank intergraded to the "main tank"
Hell, that space has been sitting idle since 2001 !!
If the small firm Highlander can do it, you would think Husaberg (KTM) could.

Like I said before in this thread, my opinion is that the bikes are getting dated. They are fine bikes indeed, but we need new freshness in design.
Not just a slimmer tank, a switch from pirelli to dunlop, or whatever.
Wake up, Husaberg!!!!

Best ,

ya know I have read this theme before here at UHE and I have to disagree. Didn't Husaberg switch carburetors and ignitions in this time frame? of 2002-2006 amongst other refinements. I saw a 2003 berg and it's no way as complete and together as my 2006, which has a fan mounting hole in the radiator. Small improvements each year are a good thing. The XR400 was a classic and now is history, but you talk as if the KTM 450 exc is a stale product. what? the bike wins bike of the year each year, next year it will be street legal. It's a great bike.

I just find the "tech" wizards here are wanting a new gizmo, just to have a gizmo to play with, not allow a great bike to develop and find new customers, expanding sales. My 2006 Fe450e is becoming a great bike, small improvements and refinements are a good thing in a product. My berg kick starts with one kick every time. try that with an old XR.

I'm a passionate new Husaberg owner and I appreciate the heritage, reliability and refinements in my 06 berg. Maybe it's the Husaberg's customer base that is getting stale, not the bikes?

Thanks for your reply, BigBob.

And you´re right. This theme has come up before.
The thing is, Husaberg started out as quite an exclusive bike with many great ideas in the design.

The Husaberg customer base is not stale, Bigbob.
In my opinion, the customer base is double-sided.
The bikes are more mainstream now so we have a base of owners who want that. And that´s perfectly valid.
BUT we also have owners who want creativity and exitement in a bike.

The bikes are still very good mind you, and the small refinements since the 2001 bike have made a good bike better.
And the Honda XR surely is a classic bike as you say but as a trail bike, not a racer.
KTM ECX is a good, solid bike also. I did not mean that the KTM is stale Bigbob, they are just not exciting anymore.
KTM know that and are therefore testing a new generation of engine, which is all over the internet.

I am writing these thoughts because I do not want to see the bergs on the road to solid trail bikes. We have a solid bunch of great bikes in that catergory.

I want to see husaberg continue on the road to exiting race bikes with new ideas.
Not just for the idea sake, but for developement to added performance.

Best,
Heimir Bardason.

thanks for your reply, I understand your point of view. I don't have enough historical perspective, nor am I a racer or even an off road motorcyclist of any credential to offer more then I said and it is worth only that.

Since the new KTM 450 prototypes are out and being raced already in 450 DOHC form, can we not expect the Bergs to follow suit? Not sure about that myself. But, I am pretty sure that future KTM motors will be more like a current Husky 450 motor than their old design.

Do´nt underestimate yourself, Bigbob.
Your opinions can be just as valid and good to hear as from any other.
That´s why we have this great forumn.

Now, if only people who are in charge of Husaberg would also partissipate, we really would have the opinion pool of Valhalla.

Sadly there has never been a trace of evidence confirming that they do

Best,
Heimir Bardason

In addition check out this thread

The problems of GG not allowing to calibrate EFI by the user have now a
solution... http://www.technoresearch.com/ .

They make the software (witch is actually free) and sell cables to connect
with GG, Sherco, etc.

I read in a thread at TT that a guy gained 12HP in a Sherco 4.5i !

Personnaly, i hope that Hsb have EFI. new fuel tank and optional black
plastics for '07...im getting tired of waiting and im with a real fever for
buying a new bike...

So no confirmed news. Been told first 07 k#ms in dealers first week in July, maybe Bergs now getting demoted to be Also Rans.Never managed to get an 06 this year, having had a new one for the last 3 years, dont think they want to sell in the Uk anymore. Big brother or what!!
