Any Failure/Issues with the '04 Fe 650?

All,

We are getting ready to race a Fe 650 in Mexico and I don't have much experience with Husabergs. I own a KTM and they share lots of bits. So, what should I look out for on this bike? Every time I tell someone we are racing a Husaberg, they ask if we are planning to finish.

I did get 60 miles on out in Ocotillo Wells. We rode it over to Superstition to watch the National Hare and Hound race for a little while. I'm really impressed with this 650! Its fast and light.

Keep an eye on the cam chain, cam bearings, and rockers. Same as with the RFS KTM engines. For 04 the rockers, cam bearings and valve assemblies are KTM parts. Other than that the only issues I have heard are main bearings going out on some of the Motard racers in europe. I don't know if this was a bad supply of bearings or not, I know that KTM has recently had some bad bearings going out in the LC4 motors. I believe that the LC4 suspect bearings were all found to be made in Taiwan. (Marked on bearing shell)
