Hi, I have read heaps of the threads about this but I'm not too sure if I have something different going on or its just the same?
I have a 2010 Fe390 3000km on it, never had a problem with the weep hole prior. But..... I just replaced the radiator fluid. drained all the old stuff out and put the new stuff in. since doing that I have noticed only a very small amount, like talking about 5ml over 2 weeks coming out the weep hole dripping down to the bash plate and landing on the garage floor. I put a peice of towel down and it is just the pink raditor fluid no oil.
Would this be an indication that the seal is on the way out?
I have taken it out for a ride but it dosnt seem to be losing anything, just when it sits for a while.
Just seems funny how it started after the new fluid was put in.
any suggestions?
Thanks

it's a regular problem on the LDC engines as well. Husaberg do a kit for it, and that should be all you need to do - just fit it.

Taffy

Hey Taffy, Would you know someplace on the web I could get this kit? Im in Australia if that helps?

im getting requests from around the world asking if my weephole kit will fit the newer engines, so must be an issue that needs fixing.

Hi Bushy,
mate got a real problem....
im changing that waterpump seal in the 2011 390, ive pulled everything out and have gotten to the seal behind the plastic impeller,
now i tried to take that seal out and it just ripped and was real thin. the edges are still stuck in around it but it looks like a bearing behind that seal.
Is this right? is there a easy way to get this out?

thanks again

Dunno mate

does this help ? pic is a bit small

there are 2 seals numbers 5 and 6 in the pic and then the bearing

they are the same OD so you should be able to get both of them out even if they are ripped

if its getting difficult remove the cover

I replaced my water pump seals once, the factory had them installed back to front, think this was the case for 09 and 10 bikes.

Heaps easier with the cover clutch cover off.

Wheel the clutch cover off mate, then you can check the impeller shaft seal area and bearing while you're at it.

Can i get to it just y removing the clutch cover or will i need to remove the whole right side casing?
I thought this was going to be an easy job........ ooops
and thanks berglsmerg

No worries. Take the whole piece off. The gasket will go again if you go easy when you take it off.

Don't use sealant on the cover as there is an oil gallery that supplies the crank.

When installing the seals have the insides of the seals facing away from each other.
