Guys, too bad I didn't read EVERYTHING in this forum. It's been a long time since I've been here. Too bad for me as I would have known to change out my rocker bearings before they died. I have a '00FE501E. I would guess I have around 100-150hrs on it though I don't have a meter. My bike is always kept in great shape with every other ride oil changes (it's just oil!!!) and very regular valve adjustments. No metal showed up in the oil or filters then during a weekend of riding my intake roller on the rocker gave out spitting out it's bearings and grinding away my cam.
The bike started to make a bad knock like very excessive valve clearences so I rode it back to the cottage gently (20 minutes easy run). I pulled the top rocker cover and found the intake roller spat it's bearings and the intake lobe badly scored. So....other than maybe '03' style roller bearings to press in, PN 200 324-01.
What should I replace (besides the rollers and cam)?
Can I use this above PN roller on a 2000 501....both intake and exhaust?
Would there be any benefit (longevity) to use another grind cam? My parts book lists a 200 160-55 (I guess this is the '55' cam people are talking about).
Should I pull everything! and clean everything out?
What else? Cam chain? Valve springs?
This is a stock engine with a replacement coil (only part to fail) but way too much fun stock. I don't need any higher rpms or move the power around.
Anyone have a good lead on parts in Southern Ontario, Canada? We still have events to run before the snow flies.

call yourself a twit for not using the full benefits of UHE membership!

i would update the rockers (making sure that you punch the edge of the rocker pin so it can't slide out. i would gently grind down the cam with a stone or let a motor engineer look at it and let him do it. 55 cam is good.

i would check the camwheels condition then fit new l;ater chain and modern tensioner blade, pull the knob off your tensioner though first...

then i would check the inlets especially for tuliping. valve springs are a precauution and not a certain failure so that's up to you.

They're Only Springs

Replace the valve springs with new ones too. They do break. Replacing them is a whole lot cheaper than the repairing the damage if you lose one at medium to high RPM.

Rocker roller repair going well

Guys, Thanks for your input. My parts arrived yesterday (motoexotica is great!) and I began putting everything back together. I hope to fire it off today. There is one other Berg in my group of riding buddies but also 4 ktms. They are now opening up their bikes to have a look at the rollers/springs/Cchain/intake valves thanks to you guys. I guess we will have a few bikes to look at over the winter.
Thanks for all your help.
