I thought I'd start a new thread since the other non-start threads ongoing right now are a little different.
I went for the first ride last weekend and everything worked great. Got home Sunday, washed the bike and put it away.
Last night I had to move everything out of my garage for some floor prep, get on the Berg hit the button and all I got was starter clicking. No FI light, no FI pump sound, just the typical "not enough juice" starter symptom. So, its getting power, just not enough of it to fully engage the starter or fire up the fuel pump? THe bike has 2 hours on it. The battery is holding charge, so thats not it. At this point I'm actually laughing out loud. I've had Yamahas for the past six years and not once did I have a hickup with them. And here I am, brand new dead bike and I'm pushing it around the yard. I park it beside the garage, move another bike, for ***** and giggles I hit the starter on the Berg as I walk by and it turns over and starts like a charm. I run it for a bit, kill it, hit the starter button... clicking starter again.
So, before I tear into it, I thought I post here for some of your opinions. Here is a check I'll do right away:
- Battery terminal connection
- Starter cable connection - I checked the one going to the starter and its fine.
- Ground?
I've never worked on KTMs or Bergs so this is all new and any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks.
