cypher,

Yes, I competed in the 2005 event on an '04 FE501.

It's a great event. One of the best reasons to do this is the route taken returns back to the Aras Rural Endurpark each day. You generally organise a shared cabin or camping on site and each evening meals are provided.

I had one DNF on day 4 or 5 with a kinked fuel line, couldn't believe it as I took the entire carb out on the side of the road and still didn't find the issue till I got the bike back to camp. Overall finished about 14th or something like that after the 30 min penalty.

The 501 was brilliant and overall have VERY fond memories of the event. I would do it again, however have now moved back to Australia so it's a little bit too far to travel.

Let me know if you need to know anything else. There's a couple of pics in my gallery of the prepared 501.

Ross.

cheers for that. was chatting with a couple of people about doing it '08.

how did you find fuel. was the standard 9 litre tank fine?

To be honest, it probably would have been fine. I over prepared and had the 4 ltr auxilary tank plus a "bum tank" on the rear. I was running down the bum tank first, then switching to the main and leaving the aux tank as reserve.

If I did it again I would just have had the standard + aux tank.
