got 4 ride's on the new BERG .did the oil change and all ,started going over all the bolts and all were LOOSE !!! iS THIS NORMAL ?? After spending $$$ I'am not to happy !! Great bike tho, thought I'd get better?????????????????????????????

Can you be a little more specific?? I don't usually have a problem with loose bolts. I have only lost one rear fender bolt between the last 4 Bergs I have owned. The seat bolt in the back can be problematic though.

Can you be a little more specific?? the front & rear axle were the only things that were tight . every bolt on the engine was loose , case & mounting bolts ,triple clamps, barmounts .have already replaced the steering headnut ,lost that on the first ride. going to buy some loc tight today to solve this problem.. I knew I would have some loose bolts , but not this many..

By loose you mean not tightened all the way? That would be somewhat normal, since you're not supposed to overtorque.

Or do you mean with a visible gap?

Very interesting. I know that has been an issue with KTM. I wonder if this is something to start watching on the new bikes.

No visible gap's, but you can tell some were never tightened all the way, just put in by hand ,that's way to loose ? Somebody told me that ''BERG'S'' had more of this issue than KTM's . Nature of the Beast I think ? Thank you all. Will keep you all up to date...

Who did you buy the Berg from?

Oh and by the way, welcome to the UHE!

I think someone at the factory and/or dealership forgot to tighten the nuts and bolts before it got sent out......

In theory all fasteners should be properly tightened from the manufacturer.
In practice such is not always the case, hence "the qualified Husaberg dealership" PDI

Single cylinder (thumper) bikes certainly have some vibration so it's not surprising for some things to loosen up over time.

The periodic maintenance schedule in the Husaberg owners manual lists checking bolts for tightness every 15 hours so grab a torque wrench in one hand and a beer in the other.

One trick I use is marking important nuts/bolts with a yellow paint pen so I can do quick visual inspections for anything working loose.

Enjoy!

Certainly the V8 like smoothness provided the axial mount , gear driven, contra-rotating balance assembly engine limits vibration to that far below the fastener loosening threshold.

It's a joke. :D

For what it's worth..........................

I feel for your loose nuts (no pun intended) and bolts. As previously stated the PDI shouild have taken care of all of this. It's really kind of weird to have so many loose nuts, just a few would be at the very least normal. However, I nut & bolt (that is check the tightness of everything) my bike before the first ride when new, then every couple of rides until I'm satisfied that nothing else will be coming loose. With the three berg's that I've had, I've only lost one fork guard bolt and that's it.

A small dab of blue loctite on problem fastners is usually all it takes.

Good luck and welcome to the UHE.

RE: Re: All loose ??

no way can husabersgs be worse than ktm's. as in the engine/bike builder. nope. no way!

but, and it's a big but, the engine design is older and has a teeny bit more vibration about it.

however YOUR problem is factory mechanic friday afternoon syndrome and nowt to do wiv running the bike.

case closed. put the file away.
