Is there a K&N filter made for the Husaberg? I can't seem to find one on the internet or my mondo RCATV book that caters to the Jap market

did it actually make any difference? :?:

I don't know. One thought comes to mind though. It appears that it would be easier to construct some sort of water shield/deflector that would loosely cover the upper half of the filter to divert water with this air filter as the bottom is smooth rubber. This would seal well against a piece of aluminum. Just a thought. Whaddaya think Bendberg?

I just don't like cleaning the gooey foam filters. What is the thought on the performance over the foam filters?

TKO makes a water base filter oil the rocks, just use hot water and soap and you're done :) tkodev.com

I've been using NoToil bio including using their cleaner and grease. Still not as easy as a K&N..

The filter could make the fabrication of a shield easier. The link posted and there search did not let me get a look at the Berg filter. I have used the K&N type filters on other machines with good success, but I do notice that fine particles still get through, and there more susceptible to water getting through them. When I was into quads/sand riding we used a product called "outerwears" over our filters, it is a fine nylon type cover that breaths well and helps shed the water away from the filter. This could also go over a foam filter and provide the same protection, I'll look into what materials are needed, it could be a very simple answer to the water issue.

EDIT, just saw Husabutts pic (computer operator error), an outwear would work great!

I have the outerwear on my K&N for the raptor. I was just looking for a direct replacement for the stock filter actually. I have modified the intake and exhaudt on every bike I have owned for the last 10 years but I want to keep the Husaberg stock. She runs great and has plenty of power for me. I just f-ing hate dealing with the mess of a foam filter. Up in your neck of the woods Bendburg it gets very dusty as I'm sure you will attest too so I need the best filter out there. WE were at Four Corners for a few days over New Years weekend. No wind and sun, couldn't have been better IMHO.Ntxt time I'm headed out there I will let you know. I am going to try and make the Black Dog at china hat this summer, mabey I'll see you there..

 jwilly stay away from that idea please, you'll get use to cleaning the foam filter!

Good enough for me, That is why I asked you, the husaberg Guru "BOSS" has spoken

Robert Loire ran one of those all year in the AMA Supermoto series. I wouldn't say that it was a really huge gain, but he did say that it was noticable. We never got around to doing any dyno back-to-back runs to see the actual numbers.

Again, that was for Supermoto only, for most real off-road riding, I would tend to agree with BOSS, and stick with a foam filter. Just sneak into a hospital and steal a box of rubber gloves. It makes the job much more tolerable.

Regards
Colin

I have used one of these "k+n" type filters, it's fine on the road but didn't feel comfortable using it in dusty conditions.

What I do to oil a filter is put the filter in a thick ziplock bag, pour in the filter oil
and squeeze the oil into the filter.
No muss no fuss. Just be sure not to put too much oil in the bag.

I do use a zip-loc baggy, Its the cleaning that is a pain in the a$$. The bio stuff is not as bad as the old school stuff but a K&N is easier. I will not use one on the HusaBerg... I do not want to do anything that might compromise my scooter..
